The Birds (1963)
The African Queen, starring Humphrey Bogart in his only Oscar-winning performance as steamboat captain Charlie Allnut, had its world premiere in Los Angeles on this day in 1951.
The often recurring motif of (prison) bars in Hitchcock films is used to visually emphasize that a character is trapped, caught, behind bars, physically or psychologically, as if in prison.
This shot is so brilliant!
