#WidowsBay is the best show I've seen in quite some time. It is a love letter to the horror genre with amazing performances, incredible set pieces, laugh out loud moments, and unnerving lore. Patricia is the GOAT!
Can't wait for season 2!

With Guillermo del Toro’s recommendation, I started watching Apple TV+‘s “Widow’s Bay.” It’s so incredibly good that I couldn’t stop, so I binged through Episode 9 in one go. This horror-comedy, executive produced by Hiro Murai, is set in a cursed island town 40 miles off the coast of New England. Dense fog, violent storms, and all kinds of supernatural phenomena descend upon the town. It’s packed with horror elements, one after another. Fans of Stephen King and horror in general will love it. The pacing is excellent, and the balance between horror and humor is just right. Ironically, the mayor’s tireless efforts to attract tourists reminded me of Mayor Vaughn from “Jaws.” The townspeople are wonderfully eccentric as well, with personalities straight out of “Twin Peaks.” It’s been a long time since a series pulled me in this completely. I can’t wait for next Wednesday’s final episode.

Sydney Sweeney will star in HOLLOW, a new take on The Legend of Sleepy Hollow.
Lindsey Anderson Beer directs.
The story blends gothic atmosphere, psychological intrigue & erotic thriller elements into a contemporary, high-concept reinvention.
Sweeney plays Katrina Van Tassel.
If I may- in my estimation- #WidowsBay may very well be the best streaming series in a long time… and hands down one of the most mesmerizing acts of narrative prestidigitation in Horror.
This is such a silly reaction.
People will spend money to see a movie that peaks their interest. That's it.
There's no "awakening" or "movement" happening from the consumer side (99% of audiences have no idea how much a movie cost to make, how old the director is, etc.)
The blockbuster summer movie as we know it is dead. RIP IP. The most talked about movies of the summer are two low budget indie films—OBSESSION and BACKROOMS.
Not sequels. Not spinoffs. Not reboots. OGs.
Movies are back, baby. This is the way.
