#Haiwaan works mainly because of the atmosphere and the confidence with which #Priyadarshan handles the thriller elements. The tension often comes from silence, anticipation and the unpredictability of what happens next.
#AkshayKumar is terrific. His character carries a constant sense of danger, and Akshay brings enough intensity and unpredictability to keep you hooked. He gives the character some much-needed layers instead of playing the darkness on a single note.
#SaifAliKhan is equally impressive. His restrained performance brings emotion to the protagonist, while his expressions and physicality do most of the talking without going over the top.
Late actor #Asrani makes his final on-screen appearance and proves his mettle once again. #BomanIrani, #SaiyamiKher and #SharibHashmi also get their moments.
But hereβs the BIG issue β #Haiwaan is a remake of #Oppam, and almost every frame feels lifted from the original. Thereβs very little fresh treatment or creative identity of its own. If youβve watched #Oppam, youβll constantly feel like youβve seen this before.
Still, the performances, atmosphere and thriller elements make #Haiwaan an entertaining one-time watch.

#Haiwaan has sold around 10K tickets across national chains for Day 1 β the lowest opening-day pre-sales for a big-ticket film this year.
Itβs still slightly ahead of #Selfiee (8.2K), #Sarfira (8K) and #MissionRaniganj (6.2K), but considering the star cast, scale and reported budget, these numbers are definitely on the lower side.

A decent advance overall, but Tamil Nadu numbers are surprisingly low for a sequel to a successful franchise. The film will need a strong push from walk-ins and spot bookings to make up for the slow pre-sales.

#Sardar2 Review: ββ
First Half:
The film starts off with some intense drama and keeps things focused without much deviation. The fights and BGM work well, although the pacing does feel a little stretched at times. It manages to stay engaging in parts, but overall, the first half is mostly drama-driven. The interval is easily the best moment of this portion.
Second Half:
This is where the film starts losing its grip. For nearly 30 minutes, the narrative becomes messy and tiring, leaving you wondering where it is actually heading. It settles down later and the message is decent, but everything feels highly predictable. More importantly, there is hardly any emotional connection with the characters.
The climax also fails to leave the impact it should have.
Performances:
Karthi is decent, SJ Suryah is fine, Malavika is okay, while Ashika doesn't really get much to do.
The director clearly had an idea and tried something different, but the execution only works in patches. There are no songs or unnecessary deviations β it's pretty much intense drama throughout. The BGM is good and the action is fine, but the film never gives you that emotional high, even during the crucial climax moments.
Overall:
#Sardar2 works in parts, but the lack of emotional connect and uneven second half hold it back.
Strictly average, and at times below average.
βMonsterβ teaser is expected to be grim and violent, opening in the middle of rain-soaked devastation.
Salman appears bare-chested and bald in the teaser, with dead bodies seen lying around him.
At one key moment, Salman is shown sitting on the ground before taking out a knife. Then the title appears.
