Losing half your life every month isn’t normal
If 1–2 weeks before your period feel like a completely different version of you
intense mood swings, anxiety, anger, exhaustion, brain fog
that’s not “just PMS.”
It could be Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD).
PMDD is a real, clinical condition that can affect your mood, energy, focus, and relationships. And it follows a pattern every cycle.
The good news? It’s treatable.
You don’t have to keep pushing through or questioning yourself every month.

this account is for you 🤍
As a Psych NP, here's a reality check:
postpartum depression doesn't always mean crying and going spiral.
Sometimes it means feeling nothing. Flat. Numb. Going through the motions... And feeling like you're a "bad mom"
As a PMHNP, here's a reality check: sleep deprivation is not a flex.
Chronic sleep loss impairs judgment, triggers rage, mimics psychosis, and destroys emotional regulation. Protect your sleep like your life depends on it. Because your brain does.
As a PMHNP diagnosed with ADHD, the worst part of ADHD insomnia isn't being awake. It's being awake AND your brain decides this is the perfect time to analyze everything wrong since middle school. Can we not. 🥲
As a psych NP: If your first instinct is to isolate whenever you feel overwhelmed, it's probably because you had to figure a lot out on your own growing up.
As a psych NP: PMDD is not something you should "push through." You wouldn't tell someone with asthma to push through an asthma attack. Stop telling women to push through luteal.
no one talks about how ADHD RSD steals your peace
how your mind replays conversations...
rewrites moments..
creates problems that don’t even exist yet..
and somehow
you’re exhausted
from things that haven’t even happened
You don't need more "relaxation tips." You need a professional who understands your brain.
