@Forcer69 -Bungie tells Sony they know how to do Live Service games.
-Sony purchases Bungie with the understanding that Bungie will lead the Live Service team.
-All Live Service games flop upon release from that point onwards.
Not exactly hard to see their reasoning there?
@LordCharizard33@2Calico Everything points to Bungie being the full reason for Destiny 2’s end.
Sony is behind the miniaturization of Bungie due to Bungie’s repeated failures of managing Sony’s Live Services team, which was a big reason behind their purchase.
@DeathstormDAG@spencerr0905 I mean, Sony bought Bungie with the understanding that Bungie would be the leader of their Live Services division.
Having multiple games go under because of Bungie’s incompetence and wanting revenge is completely understandable.
@SAVEDESTlNY@Spyk3O The “evidence” is hearsay at best.
Even then, the “evidence” shows that it’s Bungie’s fault for leading on Sony’s Executive by allowing them to lead Sony’s Live Services team then killing it through bad practices.
@ChiefBig420@UEGShadowAngel@katanaollie@ChodeKiller@ZkMushroom Problem is that, as Sony saw it the same way the players have for years:
Bungie was barely capable of keeping Destiny 2 afloat for years, they were never going to be able to make a 3rd game.
@SAVEDESTlNY@Spyk3O No? Bungie made promises and vastly oversold themselves during the buyout.
All Sony did was what’s in all their buyout contracts l: the studio has be able to make the same amount in a 3 year period as their buyout was if they want independence.
Bungie’s failed.
@katanaollie@ChodeKiller@ZkMushroom You do realize that Bungie went to Sony after Xbox refused to buy them, right?
Bungie’s the one that needed Sony, not the other way around.
@A_dmg04 Isn’t this a years old issue?
I had it happen with the Servitor event on all locals it’s on.
It’s tied to how fast damage is done to the boss.
@Lazgar_lockman If anything, Bungie will just get shutdown and their assets divide out to other studios.
Turns out that lying about your capabilities during a buyout doesn’t end well when the contract terms come into effect.
@pillowbrush@trulyyblu You do realize that “financial expectation” doesn’t mean that the expand didn’t pay for itself, just that it didn’t meet the expectations of Bungie’s greed.
@itsHecticc Sony looked the life-supported body that is Destiny and decided that it would be easier to get their money back from Bungie (part of the buy-out contract) using Marathon then spend extra money fixing the dozens of issues Destiny has in the hopes that the player base returned.
@ZachCanis I’m just constantly laughing at everyone blaming Sony.
You have Bungie, who made dozens of terrible decisions that killed the player base and destroyed the new player experience; who had to be bought out by Sony to keep from going under, but it’s totally Sony’s fault.
@Obi_Charmander@LordCharizard33 It’s probably the exact reason why Sony decided to do it:
Somt bought a gaming company who all but lied about their capabilities and watched as they destroyed the asset they bought them for in the first place. It’s no past time for the return from Bungie and it’s not possible.
@TheAdamOfApples@hardstopkeke@tivstippi “superiority complex”?
There’s a difference between discussing a game you’ve watched and saying it’s your favorite when you haven’t even touched it yet.
