After 15 years running a carpentry business, I'm now a Year 6 Teacher With a passion is to drive education in Sport, Health and Wellbeing, and now computing!
We were lucky enough to have a great maths/cooking/fun lesson this week. Starting with converting measures of a recipe, then moving on to an online, live cook lesson with the amazing @Lwagstaffe to cook that recipe. Children, and some parents! got lots out of it, well done all.
After a successful Take and Bake pizza night with our year 6s on Friday , very excited to be planning with @MrAMillburn on our new cooking adventure for next year. Thankful of the help from @PremierFoods_FS and @Lwagstaffe. Watch this space. #proudtobehcjs
Fun was still to be had for those who couldn’t make the live online session. More of the children enjoying @PremierFoods_FS Take and Bake pizza kits while watching the online tutorial video by @Lwagstaffe. Very excited about future possibilities. #proudtobehcjs#lovetheapron
Our year group have just completed our first remote live cookery session with the amazing @Lwagstaffe and Sarah @PremierFoods_FS. If everyone you took part is like me, there will be some happy kitchens. Perfect pizzas. Well done and thank you to everyone involved. #proudtobehcjs
@Mr_L_edu @JamfSchool First MDM, tried it with some new iPads and have now switched over our existing iPads. I think I have a pretty good grasp of it now thanks the remote help I had from @GBMEdu looking forward to seeing if the couple of new ones coming out the box today are set the way I wanted!!
Covid teaching be like......
Another great zoom tutorial this afternoon. Amazing how much interaction and fun you can actually have without being in the same room. And a delicious loaf to finish from the people who… https://t.co/Z6L9qLWrhD
The future of baking is safe! A different way of learning today with a great masterclass from @OMBCardiff teaching the art of bread making. Our bread was the best ever thanks to great instruction and bags of enjoyment. Thank you and look forward to the next one.
@RichieWills10@CalumGilbert95@tikitongacoffee Sorry Richie, late to the party on this one. I use Dave Seymour’s @CGCoffee7 great coffee, 7 and 15 my favourites but all very good. https://t.co/IIirMzQmLy
We need to teach the children how to solve problems to the unknown. We need to excite them in projects that will make them want to delve deeper into core subjects rather than just being told things they don’t know how or when to use.
Just watched a great talk from @SirKenRobinson on #STEM2020OnDemand. We must look at the world at the moment and think if our educational system still works. More focus on children’s health and wellbeing and allow the children to think for themselves especially in STEM subjects.
@marathonmancity@HcjsHeadteacher And we are missing Nathan and his classmates. Glad to see you are able to stay active. Make the most from this weekend it may be a wet start to next week. Stay safe.
