@MrAdamAp@Methodz I am simply curious how Counter-Strike manage this? They appear to maintain many accessible PCs and large tournaments , so why does CoD fail to do the same?
@MrAdamAp Or you should take a note from apex’s page book,
Should be on pc, even let mnk compete (idk if you do now, cod is dead lol)
I’m sorry but if your IT tech team can’t standardize 8-12 pcs and keep them from causing issues, prolly should hire new IT
I personally disagree. As long as the field of play within each competition is standardized then competitive integrity is fine
If you compete in challengers: console
If you make it to Pro: PC
Just my opinion
@H3CZ ❤️👊
Console would make things so easy
Less money for gear…and PC components are so hard to get
Less space to ship on trucks
Less electricity at events
Cheaper admins as they don’t need to know IT
And online being on console would eliminate cheating
@PowerhouseJ7@Permish_@Methodz Not what I said
I said we are hard capped due to the scalability of PCs. Not that there are more console players (which there are…). This is about to logistically scale the open inventory
Out of curiosity for the COD audience, how non negotiable are PCs for open bracket?
If we could go back to days of 256+ teams in open, is console acceptable for challengers LANs? It would dramatically increase opportunity and attendance, just simply more scalable than PC
@Methodz But wasn’t what made cod special having a massive LAN path to pro? What if that isn’t achievable on LAN on PC?
Maybe we don’t want that anymore.
Honestly curious to get feedback
@Methodz It’s a $500 console vs a $4000 PC that is TOUGH to get at scale
And they require triple the electric at scale
You also need tech admins to deal with issues vs just refs
Just across the board harder to scale a large event
@MrAdamAp As amazing as that sounds, what makes you think people will attend events just because they are playing on a console? Challengers provides PCs now and can't fill all team spots at most events. I do think console can help though.
Also, we are putting @DreamHack Birmingham CDL tickets up for sale #soon. We have substantially increased ticket quantity over our first CDL Birmingham, but based on the previous sales pace, these tickets will go FAST
Details oon.
Sad day to see @dtsay56 depart from CDL
It is easy to judge decisions from afar with a fraction of the info. As someone that has been on the inside & works closely today with the CDL team: That job is HARD. There is way more going on than you realize and Daniel will be missed.
