"... children who have unstructured time during the school day exhibit greater creativity and problem-solving skills, are less disruptive, and learn crucial social lessons like how to resolve disputes and form cooperative relationships." @edutopia

Great field trip to the Grant County Courthouse today. Even got the sky view at the end. We also broke a record today. We only made it to 9:28 a.m. until a student asked, “When’s Lunch?”
@Coach_Fleck 2nd grade teacher here! Any resources for implementing #RTB and #HYPRR culture at the elementary level? Want to incorporate character building, never give up, and serving and giving mentality next school year for my students. THANKS!
Students fire two test balloons straight up to measure hang time. Then they are assigned a launch angle and have a period to calculate where to make me stand for their one assessment shot. #iteachphysics
Yes, teachers should model learning, reading, etc because it will motivate students. But Let’s not forget to model fitness and healthy living as well. Be active, eat healthy, & take care of yourself. In today’s culture, Students need this modeled desparately.
@mraspinall At the primary level I really try to incorporate why they are learning a skill within the lesson. Having examples of how their parents use the skill can also be helpful. As for middle schoolers and high schoolers .........not sure!
New book to tackle this week. Looks like an interesting read. The importance of building relationships can’t be stressed enough! #EDMA637#lifelonglearning
I saw this at a neighboring school district a few weeks back. What a great idea to get hands-on learning and get outside. Very cool to have the community’s support behind it. #goals#EDMA637

#MTMSchat As maths teachers if we are not actively working to bust societal myths we will only have some students be successful. So much of what is believed is wrong. We could do with a complete maths reset!
#ThoughtForTheDay Imagine if there was no front of the classroom? No teacher desk or projector? Rather than student desks u had tables & more open space? Natural light? Carpet instead of tile? No whiteboards but white walls? Imagine....or better yet, time 2 Reimagine. #Culturize
The job of being educator is the most rewarding job I have ever had. It is also the hardest job I have ever had. Without having fun, I would have left the profession a long time ago. Have fun! #BeTheOne#KidsDeserveIt#Tlap
A1. We need to look at where we place recess and physical education within the day. Being strategic with the placement of movement, supports learning in so many different ways. #BeTheOne
