#Osun 2018 Guber Election and Aiyedaade's Missing 1,000 Votes

Many of us have very short memory. If not, we won't be arguing about how federal might could have swayed the result of the last Saturday Governorship election in Osun State if it was deployed.

In 2018, Ademola Adeleke of the PDP was wining the Osun State Governorship election (with a slim margin) before the miracle of Aiyedaade LG happened.

1,000 votes belonging to the PDP suddenly disappeared and with that, the election went into a rerun in 7 Polling Units.

The INEC official responsible for the disappearance of the 1,000 votes was apprehended and he confessed that it was the INEC Electoral Officer (EO) of Aiyedaade LG that instructed him to destroy the votes.

This was raised during collation of results, but the Returning Officer simply ignored it. Some alleged that the Returning Officer received a call...

The election eventually went into a rerun in 7 polling units.

During the rerun, voters for a particular candidate were made to wear IDENTIFICATION TAGS and with that, many of those not wearing the tags were not allowed to get to the Polling Units to vote. This happened in affected polling units in Ife-North, Ife-South and Kajola LGs.

In the rerun held in 7 polling units, APC scored 1,160 while PDP t scored 325.

Oyetola of the APC eventually won with 482 votes.

Here is the video of the INEC official who made the 1,000 votes disappeared then!

So when those who have experienced federal might in elections tell you that the last Saturday Governorship election in Osun State could have been different if might of the Federal Government was deployed as it has been done before, just know that it happened in the same Osun State in 2018, and the victim was Ademola Adeleke.

For this, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu deserves commendation.
