This morning in #joeyscomputing Year 3 have been completing some Code Playground challenges on Scratch. The children were shown a short animation with a glitch in it. They then needed to debug it, by correcting the coding and then testing their solution. @stjs_staveley

This afternoon, Year 3 are continuing their @vikingsinschool Ancient Greek lessons. We have recreated Theseus and the Minotaur, as well as learning about how Ancient Greeks used their temples (including sacrificing sheep!) #joeyshistory @stjs_staveley @MissDavey11

Year 3 have also created an Ancient Greek timeline, learnt about the weapons and defensive techniques they used. They also had a visit from a Hoplite soldier. @stjs_staveley @MissDavey11 #joeyshistory

Year 3 had a brilliant day at Chatsworth! We spent our time exploring the gardens. Our final task was to sketch part of the main house. We were lucky enough to have some interested visitors, who wanted to see our sketches (and possibly eat any remaining food!) @stjs_staveley

Year 3 had a brilliant day at Chatsworth! We spent our time exploring the gardens. Our first task was to investigate which flowers were the most popular with the local insects.We recorded the type of plant, the colour and kept a tally of how many insects visited it @stjs_staveley

During #joeysgeography today, Year 3 are preparing for their trip tomorrow by charting the trade routes used to bring plants and seeds in to this country. We are investigating the most efficient mode of transport to move the seeds across continents. @stjs_staveley

Year 3 are currently creating a storyboard for their own Ancient Greek ‘Monster’ narrative. They have created a powerful mythical beast and are developing the story of how that monster had a significant impact on the ancient world. #joeysenglish @stjs_staveley

This morning, Year 3 and 4 have been completing their Wow Week cooking activity! We have been making vegetable patch hummus from scratch. The children have crushed, mixed and smoothed the ingredients to form a lovely dish! #healthandwellbeing @stjs_staveley @MIssBai69392016

This morning, members of Year 3 and 4 attended @ShapeLearning ‘s Commonwealth Games event. We tried a range of activities including using Zorbs, archery and much more! The children had a fantastic time! #joeyspe @stjs_staveley

This afternoon, as part of our Wow Week, Year 3 have created improvised drama. They were given a single image to study and then asked to create a dramatic interpretation of the picture! The results were creative, compelling and often hilarious!! @stjs_staveley
