@MarioJoos This is the world, it's happening everywhere all the time. Journalists, review sites, documentaries, influencers, fact checkers, the list goes on... the biggest ones are usually the worst. The higher up you go, the more you see it...
@FaradayYouTube It's a fair post, although it misses two other major factors.
1. COVID/productivity was the peak, a perfect storm.
2. AI is replacing a lot of the type of content he creates
...this very post proves it too.
YouTube is introducing VTuber-like AI 'avatars' that let creators make videos without being on camera
The feature creates a digital version that looks and sounds like them
@oligilpin Had this happen to one of our channels well over a year ago... brought it up with my partner manager, but they didn't have an answer. It's a real problem when you're spending $$$'s to pay a team, research and create, and then a day after release, another channel duplicates.
@PixAn_Tweets Depends on the title but "with $0" is the most effective. Can be processed without thinking, signals transformation and outcome rather than process.
You will never do enough to get love from your haters.
You will never have enough proof to satisfy your doubters.
So just make sure your biggest hater and your biggest doubter isnโt yourself.
@oligilpin@hitsman It's interesting and something certainly needs to be done but the concern would be the natural subjectivity and assumptions already factored in here. More clarity around policy and implementation might be better for integrity of the platform (and creator motivation).
Hey @YouTube I would pay an extra $10/month on top of YouTube Premium to disable shorts.
I don't want to see another short ever again. Please let me toggle them off.
@jtheace2 I'm talking about YouTubes uneven application of policies on regulated goods. See the original post. Cooking isn't a regulated goods and the responsible cooking channels aren't being shut down instead of the irresponsible ones...
Just tell us, what are the policies?
There are thousands of channels promoting gambling like Vegas Matt...
Yet they are restricting creators who are doing the total opposite and rejecting appeals within seconds.
Not to mention Crypto, NFTs, Forex and all the rest.
@TeamYouTube It's not that appeals are instantly rejected by AI, it's that policies are vague and inconsistent...
BELOW:
1. Promoting responsibility
2. Promoting irresponsibility
What is the actual policy?
@YouTubeInsider@TeamYouTube
@jtheace2 For clarity - the card counting guy has nothing to do with me. Read the comments on VM, they're lonely, depressed people who think he's their 'friend' hanging out with them. I don't see how saying you lost (he also talks about winning constantly) makes gambling promotion safe.
@jtheace2 So you're saying card counters don't beat the casino - that's quite funny. You're also saying it's perfectly fine to target vulnerable people and label irresponsible behaviour as 'entertainment' in order to bleed them dry... as long as you tell them. Horrific.
@jtheace2 It's backwards. The irresponsible degenerate video should be the one restricted, not the responsible one. Even looking at the comments on each it's clear what's going on with the lost souls on the slots videos...
@jtheace2 I see the difference; on the left is someone teaching a mathematically proven concept with a positive expected value. On the right, Vegas Matt is advertising slot machines and degeneracy - the complete opposite... yet somehow, the second is okay, and the first isn't?
So. YouTube is purging inauthentic AI produced content...
...whilst adding features to create inauthentic AI content.
It's as transparent as mud, but at least those repurposing my channels with AI will stop now!
Inauthentic content is killing YouTube Automation.
Last night I lost another channel to this policy. It was not even an ai channel. It was a YTA channel.
Nothing seems to be safe anymore.
All the videos were completely original with heavy editting.
- Footage switch every 3-4 seconds.
- Still images.
- Overlays
- Lower thirds
- Original commentary
It still got taken down. My theory is that it doesn't matter how well the video is being editted. It's about repeated patterns. It's about abusing the same format over and over again on your channel. Thumbnail format, title structures, script structures.
Good luck to anyone that got hit in this crazy wave.
