@mathewjdp A mixture of both.
Freddy got some opportunities last season but he didn’t have that bite he did in Boston.
If he can find that edge again I really don’t think it’s out of the realm he can beat his career high in points.
At his best he was a 12-14 minute guy. Productive m6er.
@EdmOilerlytics@laelhine Broberg and Holloway both could’ve been potentially kept due to Kane being out on ltir.
I can’t exactly remember the cap situation after the arvidsson signing but I think they had around 6 million in cap space but didn’t know if Kane would return in season.
@mathewjdp By no means am I saying any of your analysis is wrong, you may be spot on.
A new coach and system that utilizes depth players may revitalize Frederic. I think he can be a bounce back candidate. It would be unfair to write him off in year 2 of an 8 year deal all things considered
@mathewjdp Offence isn’t completely driven by your centers, the oilers have a good construction of puck movers on each d pair and a lot of wingers have play making ability.
On paper they are a well balanced team. Have to think Frederic will get top 6 looks when mcdrai get split.
@dstaples@edmontonjournal I think it’s a little premature to call lost faith in management.
If the shea deal grenedes and Walman is less than he was lastyear I might be out.
I can’t pin the offersheets on bowman, that was Jackson/holland.
Moved nurse with no retention and got assets.
@SportsF4natic55@Troggle3003 They are allowed to run a 23 man roster.
They can go 13 forwards 8 dmen and 2 goalies
Or
13 forwards 7 dmen and 3 goalies
As the roster sits now they will run 3 goalies which means they will have to move 1 dman which presumably be Stastney.
@dstaples@KurtLeavins@edmontonjournal Marjala is the reason why I believe the oilers must refrain from signing ptos.
Give the players in your system a chance to earn a spot. Marjala may even push Samanski for the 4c spot.
Samanski may be higher on the chain due to defensive iq.
@JustinOilers@podgoalzin17@dfoedmonton Ike will be trade bait no matter what.
The hope is he can perform good enough to be a top 6 winger this season but if any real upgrade is available he will likely be moved regardless.
@NickRoss0073@podgoalzin17 At what capacity?
Hyman is one of the hardest working players in the league.. he picked a situation that would benefit himself and he has worked his tail off in anyway he has needed to in order to help the oilers win.
Hyman will amplify his game to whatever standard is needed.
@MikeBartner@Lightn1ngStr1k3 Fox is just underreported on at this point in his career.
Bouchard is misreported on due to his former play. Not sure there’s another dman I’d want out there when the team is applying pressure for a late goal. Hes world class offensively but defensively he’s actually mediocre.
@Oilersfanreact@TheHockeyWriter Not sure what you disagree with
This is how the oilers score looks as of right now
Ekholm-Bouchard
Walman-Murphy
Shea-emberson
Mukhamadallin as the 7th dman
Stastney would be the 8th dman on the roster
