To every nurse out there, tired, overwhelmed, yet still showing up with compassionโฆ thank you. The world is softer because of you.
Happy International Nurses Day
As Valentine is fast approaching pls make sure that partner u are planning to go intimate with especially for the first time
Make sure u are both screened for STDs.
Practice safe sex or abstinence.
The HIV, HPV, AlDs, Herpes, & Chlamydia rate is way too damn high to be having hoes, side pieces, and unprotected sex with random people just cause you're "horny".
Sex requires TRUST. You're trusting another individual with your body, and essentially your life.
HIV-positive or not, your baby can be born healthy.
Pregnant people with HIV can reduce the risk of passing the virus to their baby by:
๐บTaking HIV medicines, also called antiretrovirals (ART), throughout pregnancy and childbirthย
๐บMaintaining an undetectable viral
HIV can be transmitted through pregnancy, birth, and breastfeeding. However, treatment with HIV medicines can help reduce the risk of passing HIV to the baby to less than 1%.
Pregnant people with HIV should start taking HIV medicines as soon as possible. Most HIV medicines are safe to use during pregnancy and do not increase the risk of birth defects.
๐บ Checking viral loads at key points, including when first starting HIV drugs, every month until the viral load is undetectable, and at 36 weeks of pregnancy
๐บGetting a C-section if needed
๐บGiving their baby HIV medicines for 2-6 weeks after birth
๐บ Feeding their baby formula instead of breastfeeding
