@shadihamid@hasanthehun "US policymakers...do not deliberately try to kill Muslim civilians"
Sorry Shadi but this is demonstrably false. I get you're trying to differentiate between politicians & military personnel but Awlaki's civilian son was executed by Obama as a matter of policy
🔴Statement from the Lebanese Ministry of Health:
The Ministry of Public Health condemns, in the strongest possible terms, the barbaric crime committed by the Israeli enemy in burning down the Mays al-Jabal Governmental Hospital—an act constituting a flagrant and brutal assault.
This public healthcare facility—which the Ministry had diligently refurbished and equipped with state-of-the-art medical technology to serve as a lifeline and a safe haven for displaced residents and those steadfastly remaining in border areas—is now facing systematic destruction that reveals a profound moral bankruptcy and deep-seated criminality. The occupation forces did not merely occupy the facility previously and convert it into a military barracks; they have now gone so far as to burn it down completely, thereby depriving the people of the South of their most basic human rights to medical treatment and healthcare.
The Ministry asserts that targeting medical institutions and healthcare personnel constitutes a full-fledged war crime and a blatant violation of international conventions. It calls upon the international community, the World Health Organization, and the International Committee of the Red Cross to immediately break their suspicious silence and hold the occupation accountable for its repeated crimes against Lebanon’s health sector. Furthermore, the Ministry emphasizes that these criminal acts will not break the people's resolve; the Ministry remains committed to fulfilling its national and humanitarian duty and supporting the people of the South with all available resources, regardless of the sacrifices required.
The full story is this dude allegedly stalked a girl at a gym because she was wearing a keffiyeh and called her “a terrorist.”
She then responded by calling him a “Zionist pig”.
No consequences for the guy, while the girl has been placed on administrative leave.
@StopAntisemites@KPMG Good for her. There are many Christian Zionists like Huckabee so @KPMG@KPMG_US don't fall for this BS accusation of antisemitism. Stand up for your staff & don't cave to these losers trying to ruin her life cos she opposes genocide.
And hope she releases her side of the video.
Here is Kobi Heller, the IDF commander in the West Bank, meeting with settlers from illegal outposts to discuss their “shared responsibility for the security of the region.” Among them is Eliav Libi, one of the West Bank’s most notorious ethnic cleansers.
@RupertLowe10 Man who has never shed one drop of blood for his country thinks he can appropriate the designation given to the sacrifice of servicemen and women who died fighting against the very ethnonationalist supremacy that he's calling for
Quick thoughts on the main claims in this piece about HMG's sanctions on illegal settlements (which people can support or oppose but still:)
The "pro-Arab, uncomfortable with Jews" characterisation by an unnamed source of FCDO/diplomatic culture doesn't hold up at all (and frankly deeply insulting) and shouldn't have gone unchallenged.
"MI6 warned against it" — piece admits MI6 never said "don't do it." Caution is their job; if they'd thought it wrong, they'd have said so plainly.
"Gulf states furious, pulling investment" — Gulf capital decisions track Iran risk, not Israel-Palestine. Hard to find a Gulf official who'd say otherwise.
"Gulf states depend on Israeli intel via MI6" — they don't; multiple routes exist.
"Ambassador gave an explicit warning" — diplomats pushing back on friction with their host country is standard. That's the job.
"Powell was sidelined" — no independent verification of his actual advice. Officials advise; policy doesn't always follow. Not unusual.
"This helped Netanyahu, proving the warning right" — doesn't hold up against Israeli press and polling.
"E1 was just an excuse, really about Holborn" — a line in the Israeli press, but between the E1 deadline and parliament sitting, there wasn't another real window.
"This will hurt intelligence sharing" — an ally cutting cooperation over a policy disagreement says more about that ally than about the policy. Also cuts both ways. Dubious anything will change.

The world moved heaven & earth to rescue the Oceangate sub & the team in the Tham Luang cave
But nobody is moving a muscle to save 100 souls trapped beneath a collapsed building in Gaza.
Gazans are literally digging through the rubble with their bare hands. The bare minimum is to press Israel to allow excavators, trucks & fuel. There’s no reason why Israel is still banning those life-saving equipment from entering Gaza!
@LauraTrottMP What's your obsession with hair covering? What about arms & legs? Is forced covering of limbs ok but not hair? Is it ok for Jewish & Sikh boys but not for Muslim girls? Do you actually have any principles on this matter or are you just an anti-Muslim bigot chasing cheap votes?
