SONY POSTS A GAME. THE REPLIES SAY - DISCS.
open the playstation account right now. almost every post runs the same:
- a promo goes up - a sale, a new game, the monthly lineup
- the replies fill with one word: discs
- half the posts get slapped with a community note
- the disc announcement is still wearing one, two weeks later
nobody's talking about the games. they're talking about the one thing sony refuses to address.
according to moore's law is dead, citing an anonymous source, some studios pay sony thousands to lock a specific posting slot on these accounts. right now, if true, that money buys one thing: a megaphone pointed into a wall of disc anger.
one dev quoted in the report said they'd be "very upset with sony" if this hit during their own launch. mlid's worst case: gta 6 promo tweets landing in this in november.
the heat cooled a bit since week one, but it hasn't stopped. "no disc, no buy" is still under almost every post, and the petition just crossed 325,000 signatures.
sony bet everyone would forget.
the replies are still keeping score.
“Climate change will manifest as a series of disasters viewed through phones with footage that gets closer and closer to where you live until you’re the one filming it”❤️🩹
“Youth who watch this movie must understand that blind faith in their leaders can lead them to death.”
A Donald Sutherland quote that never lost its relevance.
Remembering Donald Sutherland (1935–2024) on what would have been his birthday.
More good NEWS, gamers!
It appears that gamer advertisers and developers are upset with @Sony. They paid a hefty amount of money for getting advertisement space from them. But gamers are burying their posts on comments.
The BACKLASH is working, developers, publishers and investors are paying attention. We must continue to voice our opinions. We must be louder, more than ever. Keep applying pressure. Keep canceling PSN, any preorders including GTA6 and voicing your courage.
WE GOT THIS GAMERS!
I’m detecting a pattern here, looks like journalists are trying to get people to give up, I bet they’re are getting paid to say the same stuff!
Don’t fall for it guys, it looks like another tactic to get people to give up!
The criticism will not stop! People will continue to show the world under every single post what you really think about your customers. Your own analysts said it. You don't care about any of us anymore, fan or casual player. Physical media maintains the health of the gaming ecosystem. You suck it right out with you decision to kill it. #NoDiscNoBuy
PlayStation is reportedly making various studios furious as they pay them thousands of dollars to feature their games on social media, only for the posts to get flooded with angry comments and community notes over Sony’s plan to end physical game media by January 2028🚀
This may possibly derail promotional campaigns for other games, including GTA6
Don’t give up!
Keep up the pressure!
Our voices MUST be heard🫡💪🏼
NO DISC 💿 NO BUY

PlayStation is in overdrive this morning posting multiple tweets within an hour, thinking ignoring their fanbase that helped them built their brand is going to fix things.
We will not be silent about the physical media bullshit.
