Ridley Scott reportedly blamed Paul Mescal for ‘Gladiator II’ and felt he wasn’t “masculine enough”

According to Puck’s Matt Belloni, Scott was unhappy with Mescal after ‘Gladiator II’ and that reportedly contributed to the actor being dropped from ‘The Dog Stars.’

Mescal had originally been attached to star before Jacob Elordi replaced him. His team cited scheduling conflicts with Sam Mendes’ Beatles films, but that explanation has since been disputed.

Everyone on Kurosaki Station wears a patch tied to their role and position, and there are several variations across the Colony. This one is worn by miners, refinery workers, and heavy machinery operators working for Weyland-Yutani in the industrial sector.

The Kurosaki logo appears in both English and kanji, reflecting the British-Japanese dual origin of the company. Kuro (黒) means black, and saki (崎) means promontory, which fits a station sitting on a dark and lonely edge of the galaxy.

I was extremely blessed to be able to reveal one of the patches from Alien: Isolation 2. Small detail I keep circling back to is the dual‑language Kurosaki logo. It makes me wonder how much of the station’s culture is shaped by those two influences and whether that tension shows up in the upcoming story. Corporate identity always leaks into the cracks. Even in something as small as a patch.

What I love about this one is how practical it is. It is meant for miners, refinery workers, and heavy machinery operators who keep the station running while working in the loudest and most dangerous parts of the industrial sector. There is a quiet pride in it but also a reminder of where you stand in the Weyland‑Yutani hierarchy. You are essential but you are replaceable. Weyland-Yutani never lets you forget that.

Details like this always end up mattering in the Alien franchise. If this is the level of attention going into the uniforms...I cannot wait to see what the rest of Kurosaki Station looks like. TIME WILL TELL!
