Hello! My name is Clark Fraser. I am from Butler, PA, went to Knoch High School (as seen in the picture), and I am within Grove City’s Secondary Education department with a specialization in Mathematics! I can’t wait to fulfill my dream of becoming a teacher someday!
In early December, students at Tigard High School in Oregon staged a walkout over a video depicting some of their classmates spewing out racial slurs. It is important as teachers to ensure the safety of all of our students, and we are called to advocate and uplift those
who are victims of such occurrences. If a situation like this ever occurs, I will do everything in my power to make certain that justice is served properly.
particular students. I also learned that Arab culture respects individuals with disabilities, and so it is important to provide accommodations for these students as well. #gccedu
Finally, I learned a bit of background about my future Arab students and how they best learn. It has been shown that these students learn best through oral/aural activities, although it is still important to diversify my teaching style in case these are not optimal for my
but we can't let our expectations get in the way of helping a student who needs it. As teachers, it is important to stress the fact that each student should speak up and use their voice to ask questions if they have any. This way, we ensure our students are learning. #gccedu
Just heard an awesome lesson on Asian culture! I learned more about the Model Minority Myth, which is the incorrect assumption that all of the Model Minority (Asian students) will be smart, hard-working, and information sponges. We must have high expectations for our students,
Just listened to a great presentation on the culture of our Native American students! I learned how this culture places emphasis on the individual taking charge of learning and how few of these students move onto higher education (just 19%!!!!!!!). #gccedu
Today I received a great reminder in a background lesson on how to teach the homeless that a massive part of our calling is to care for the "least of these" as Christian educators. I pray that I will continue to shine the love of Christ in my classroom to all students I teach!
Hey y'all! Myself and @heymissstewart put together a little presentation on Latino culture as a background to help us be informed where they may be coming from and also how to best teach them! Check it out and leave some takeaways if you feel inclined!

Hi @chrisemdin my class and I just finished up FWFWTITH and we also watched your TedTalk on reality pedagogy. Regarding your 5 C's, I love your reasoning for the order the words are in and what you brought up about integrating community figures into the classroom (context).
to technology. Are you saying that we should ask our students if they want a Mac as compared to an iPad, or are you suggesting something deeper such as asking them their home situation and if they can even use the technology they are being given? Thanks!
Just read an eye-opening article about American poverty! It details all about how poverty in America declined to record lows since the Great Depression due to increased government spending. This shows how impactful income support is to tackling short term poverty.
Just read a cool article about the findings of Sobrato Early Academic Language (SEAL) being used to help educate bilingual students! Students are shown to be more engaged in learning English when using this, but students may also see a slight lack of development in their own.
