@puzzleoftheweek sorry to see your website seems to have shut down. Are you willing to share the archive of puzzles you have? Looking for these types of challenges for my classes. Thanks!
@mathsweekscot @ICMS_Edinburgh@thingsinjars Thanks for posting this! Very glad to see my S3s PiKus shared here! They will be chuffed 😀 (but not as chuffed as I am! 😂)
I'm so impressed with my S3s' Pi-ku poems they wrote for Pi day! (The pupil writing about disliking maths was quick to clarify that it was hypothetical 😂). Also had a reciting pi contest which brought some sibling / cousin rivalries! @WMCKilmarnockAc@aap03102 @mathsweekscot
In my final week😭 at @BrechinHigh1 @brechinhsmaths department, I'm proud of all these pupils who have engaged with my maths challenges throughout the year, achieving gold standard. Each received certificates today. I'm sure they'll go on to great things! @BrechinHighLib
@WeePinkLaura@Emma_Seith@JohnSwinney@WeePinkLaura where have you been applying? I'd have thought you'd be snapped up. We were looking for a Spanish teacher recently and them having some German and French would've been just mint!
@CarolLyon16 Yeah it's not the best description but trying to fit into 150chars. E.g. mixed nums to improper fracs: just mult whole num by denom and add num. Instead of being asked to recognise visually. I'm fine if they then come up with that ^ themselves but confusion if just told that.
Loving Fiona's knt, much of which I try to do in my teaching. At same time I'm frustrated by reality that pupils like only to be taught exact methods, else feel they're "not being taught". Sometimes exact methods are imo right way to teach, but not always #SMC2021
@MrTilston Aye I like this workshop. Actually I was quite impressed with most of the workshops I chose for today! Cheers for this pic I kind of missed that slide as was making a few notes about what he'd just said haha!
