The reason a “decade of progress” has been (allegedly) “wiped out” is that the progress was illusory.
You don’t remove disadvantage by improving a few grades for a few kids. You remove disadvantage by
removing disadvantage.

Searing piece from @stephenkb on the logistical nightmare that is re-opening schools. Relieving to see a journalist grappling with the real issues. https://t.co/rrcHmGAdWJ
Schools should more widely open ONLY when it's SAFE.
Parents, teachers, academics, medics, other unions and even Piers Morgan agree!

Here is the scientific evidence for re-opening schools.
It basically says: kids don't get that ill with it. Also, we haven't factored in social distancing but we expect it will be hard with little kids so wash your hands.

Year 3 have enjoyed making their shoebox Water Cycle projects. We are so sad to be saying goodbye for now. Keep being amazing Year 3. #ceja#education#walthamstow#watercycle
Dear Parents, we know these are unsettling times for you. We understand and feel your concern, but please remember, from next week, if you can provide child care for your child/children in any other capacity please do. School should be your last resort, not your first.
I hope everyone had a good first week back at work. We’re spending this week as family week. A great chance to really get to know all of your children in your class. Sending positivity to you all #teacher#primaryeducation#primaryschool
'Why did we think it a good idea to link a child’s results in exams to the performance of the teacher, headteacher and school?' @RealGeoffBarton asks https://t.co/0fPLB4Acng
Children's books are the books that make us into readers & change our lives FOREVER. That's why I think they're the most important books of all!
