@Mr_Minchin 2/2 works brilliant well for subtraction too. Start with larger value and score out the smaller value. Exchanging when needed. The visuals and the physically moving the numicon or blocks makes them actually understand.

@Mr_Minchin Always started with numicon which has been great. In the pic always start at the ones and lay it out in a dice array then score off try to make ten scoring out each ⭕️ 1 at a time. Soon as they make 10 add it over and then it’s really quick number recognition of what’s left. 1/2
