The organic chemistry topic is always one of my favourites to teach at GCSE. Some ideas to teach the reactions of alkenes, potential misconceptions and how it builds at post-16 ⬇️

@PriestleyChem@RSC_EiC@bcamrhesford Thanks, Wendy! Hope you’re doing well. It was a nice article to contribute to and a good example of something that has worked and become fully embedded within the department since @bcamrhesford initially introduced it.

@ChrisHillidge Perhaps something like end of Y10 exams (worth 40%), end of Y11 exams (worth 60%) to avoid endless resits. Single exam board - yes! No weird 21st Century Skillz spec and definitely no coursework ever. Just thoughts don’t @ me.
In the process of writing an article for @RSC_EiC that involves some A-Level Chemistry. It even made me dip back into a textbook that I’m sure most undergraduate chemistry students remember well…and one I haven’t opened for a while 👀
