Say total oncome is 55k and i pay £425 pm into my CARE pension scheme. Does this mean i can deduct 5100 for my net income (figures are not real just examples)

When completing a self assessment is my net income (for child benefit charge) my pay on my p60 ((after tax) + any self employment earning? Do i take off my pension contribution as well? Its not very clear

@HMRCcustomers Yes i know that. What i asked was when it says did you earn more than 50k net income. Am i using the figure on my P60 in the pay column or do i include the tax deducted. So is it for example 48k + 7k tax or just the 48?

This is much more complicated than it needs to be
