This week we welcome Geography teachers from 45+ schools across the @UnitedLearning network to our Summer Conference hosted by @KingsCollegeLon. ๐บ๏ธ๐
2 action packed days of mini-lectures, workshops and collaboration time to inform 2025-6 planning.
Rather excited for this! ๐
The Geography Department and Mini Attenborough are ready to deliver some Easter eggs to those that have shown 'eggcellence' in Geography this half term... Who has demonstrated our STAR values and is one of the lucky winners...?
Curriculum in action: This week Mr Collett's Year 8 geographers were looking at longshore drift. To help with their understanding, they practiced the movement of swash and backwash. Their movement across the playground helped them understand how sediment moves along the coastline
It was great to see some of our pupils during lunchtime for our Geography board games enrichment club. Pupils were playing Mapominoes to help with their locational knowledge. There was some great use of words such as 'landlocked' being used.
โญ Well done to those pupils who have been recognised by their Geography teachers for SuperSTAR work in lessons! Remember - every pupil who is recognised is entered into a prize draw at the end of each term for their year group! Could you be recognised next week?โญ
Great day, great atmosphere and great students who were STARs! Oh, and winning the staff relay was pretty good too! Surprised even myself ๐คฃ!
Proud to be team GEA!
These young people are going to have the BEST 5 years, supported by a dedicated staff team who have the interests of all young people at the very core of what they do! A team I am immensely proud to be part of every day!
So lovely to see our biggest year group ever enjoying themselves, making friends and spending time with their form tutors today. Year 6 are smashing it!
The GEA General Election was a success, with pupils participating in the democratic process by voting after learning about the promises of the main political parties. Pupils engaged in discussions and asked questions about important issues in anticipation of the upcoming GEA GE.

@mrrickettsmfl Twinkl is quite useful, you have to pay a subscription, but itโs good for grasping whatโs expected at Primary. Iโve used it to help me plan for my year 7 Hist & Geog from September ๐
I'm giving away 3 free tickets for this event on Wednesday. Retweet for the chance to win a ticket or tag an #NQT or #trainee in your RT to nominate them.

There are lots of ITT students / future NQTs out there who are understandably worried about what September will hold for them.
Here is the best advice Iโve been given, and some I wish I had in prepping for the year ahead.
