I may be biased, but I believe that the original Star Wars movies are the BEST at explaining and demonstrating leitmotifs in movies. I also use it to show how integral film scores are to a movie. #UFMUE
Sometimes life happens and we have to be absent from teaching our students. What are the most successful sub plans/worksheets/online lessons that you utilize during your absence? #UFMUE#MUSED#musiced
@ZgMichelle@BandLab I did have to do a little bit of editing to remove the original audio and cut the video down to fit the students' vision. The students always enjoy it!
For the past two weeks, my general music students created new music for old movie trailers using @BandLab. Here is what a 7th grader did for their project: https://t.co/X8slBq3uXY
I always love doing this project, and BandLab made it even more fun this time! #UFMUE
Audition prep is in full swing for choir! Choir teachers, what is the best method you have found for teaching the music for All-Region/All-Conference/All-District/All-State when one director is in charge of teaching 5 different parts at once? #UFMUE#musedchat
@musicmatt2 It absolutely is an instrument. If we can consider a synthesizer or an electronic keyboard an instrument, the Push would definitely qualify. It still takes a bit of skill with rhythm to use it fully, too. #UFMUE
I love how awesome solfege is as a tool. I hate how confusing and repetitive it is, especially for my students who don't have a strong grasp of music theory. Any tips to make it less annoying? #UFMUE
Just confirmed we will have Christopher Tin as a guest artist Q & A in #UFMUE American Vernacular Music. Composer of Baba Yetu and arranger for big band charts in the movie Crazy Rich Asians. Heβll talk about songwriting etc. An example of his EDM work https://t.co/NqXaw6EZIk
Anyone else get near daily emails from students wanting to show you their @incredibox_ mixes? Nothing makes me feel more successful as a teacher than their pride in their work! #UFMUE
I told students they could go to their next class because the bell rang.
Then I had to tell them again.
Music technology has changed my music classroom for the better. They get more engrossed with technology-based projects than they ever did with paper assignments! #UFMUE
Fellow teachers & graduate students, make sure you are taking time for YOU today! We are much better learners & educators when we take just an hour each day to rejuvenate & do something else we love. We aren't just our career! Self-care is vital! Hobbies are important! #UFMUE
Secondary General Music teachers, what factors do you consider to shape your curriculum for your courses? For the past 2 years, I've had my students suggest topics so they have the opportunity to learn more about what they're interested in. Would love feedback! #UFMUE#MusEd
