The Accra High Court has ruled that there was no evidence to support claims that the brother of former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Edward Akufo-Addo, popularly known as “Bompty,” used Ghana’s presidential jet for personal trips.
The ruling brings to an end a long-standing defamation suit filed by Edward Akufo-Addo against Class Media Group, Mensah Thompson, Accra FM presenter Kwabena Bobie Ansah and Listowell Nana Kusi-Poku.
The court has awarded GH¢10 million in damages against the defendants and ordered a retraction and public apology.
