In the last five years, I have taught…
2018/19 - Year 1
2019/20 - Year 2
2020/21 - Year 1
2021/22 - Year 1
2022/23 - Year 1
And for the academic year 2023/24 it’s going to be ….you guessed it …YEAR 1 🤐
I generally love year 1 I won’t lie! 😂
News just in! NEU officially accepts government pay offer of 6.5%! 86% of members have voted yes to accepting the pay offer. No more strikes in the autumn term.
This is not Section 28 coming back again….this is a lot worse. If these reports are true…this not only allows the abuse of trans children, but it does not protect such a small minority of children against the hate in this world. As a teacher, I do not stand by this!!!
There is one word in this years phonics test that is just so so cruel. Most kids won’t even know what it is and it’s ridiculous to make a 5 year old read it…even my greater depth didn’t get it!
MEAN!
@SwailesRuth I know exactly what scheme you are referring to because I had this happen to me this year. It was awful! I refused to let them intrude my lesson and asked them to politely leave…the conversation afterwards wasn’t good as I didn’t feel I could take on any of their advice.
I have a link governor meeting this week at school all about my subject (SMSC). I have a feeling they are trying to get me OFSTED ready but honestly the anxiety of this…I feel sick!!
Any help greatly appreciated.
Does anyone have any questions/answers for SMSC?
👑The Department for Education will spend more than £350,000 on flower seeds to help primary schools mark the coronation
The announcement comes in the same week that schools faced their 6th day of strike action by members of @NEUnion over teacher pay

@RogersHistory@Channel4@ITV@netflix It’s not even about them teaching for 2 weeks….it’s signing a contact of some sort that progress will be made, targets met, pressures from SLT…they need to understand that it’s not just about standing in front of kids and ‘teaching’
I used to be a massive @karren_brady fan!! But to negatively comment on something that she has no idea about is atrocious. Not only are teachers striking for Better pay conditions but most teachers are striking for a better education for our kids. Karen - you are privileged. 😴
