Google has made a decision for my case. As an exception, they offer to exchange the defective device.

After I send it out, they will inspect it, then send me a replacement... Maybe.

I said, sure. Will update on how long this takes from start to finish.

Still waiting on response from Google Support. Been a week since I first let them know. Purchase made from Google Store

@madebygoogle seems better at responding than the phone number. Use them 1st

Google support responded today. 01/07 Said it's not covered under warranty. But, they'll escalated it to Google Social Support team.

Not looking good. Will update upon final decision by Google.

@dresling @madebygoogle It seems to have just happened one day - on it's own. Some say their's happened while in their pocket.
For me, it's possible it happened overnight, and I just used it for the day, not noticing until later.

But I really can't say how as I wasn't using the phone when it happened.

@madebygoogle Thanks, I've been following up myself, and have had the greatest assistance so far here on Twitter. Phone support has dropped the ball. A follow up to my my original tweet for help here on Twitter @madebygoogle seems to have made the ball start rolling again.

@pdKshs @madebygoogle @TELUS I bought mine from Google Store, directly. I'm having similar problems. I don't think it makes a difference where we bought it, so long as there is deniability. But, there's no denying all these pictures of broken camera glass is the exact same way.
