WHAT IS TOMOCHI? (long read but worth it)

Most of you weren't familiar with me or Tomochi (fka Poki) until recently, so here's a detailed breakdown of everything you should know:

Tomochi is the name of our brand but it's also the name of the world in which Poki and his friends live. The goal of Tomochi is to become an IP Titan. We want Tomochi characters to be everywhere a few years from now. Think Chiikawa, SanRio, etc...this is the market we're going for.

Through Tomochi we want to spread joy, love and good vibes.

We have been taking the time over the past 18 months to lay the foundation of the brand. We've been posting everyday on all platforms (organically) and the growth has been exponential. The brand was named Poki at first and was only centered around our Poki character, but quickly, a whole world started growing around him (Mototo, Luna, Roz, etc...): characters with their own stories, vibes, and their own little corners of this universe.

So we decided it was time to give that world a name. Which is when we introduced Tomochi (Poki & Friends is a registered company and we own the Tomochi trademark).

SOME HISTORY ABOUT THE COIN

In January 2025, @jessicakomori, @Toricenn and I created Poki, a cute hamster inspired character. From the beginning the goal was to turn this cutie into a mainstream IP.

We launched $poki on pumpfun on february 2025, as we believed it would be easier to grow a new IP from scratch by leveraging the exposure and holder base of the coin. Later that year, we migrated to BonkFun (we were an OG pump pair so we weren't earning fees and at the time it was impossible to migrate to pumpswap).

We stayed on Bonkfun for about 10 months and ended up deciding to migrate back to @Pumpfun to earn more fees and increase our runway + we didn't like some of the things going on at bonk at the time. (side note: in 15 days on Pump we have earned over $10k in fees, vs 1.33M POKI (name of the former token) + 1.565 SOL in fees in 10 months on Bonkfun).

The brand evolved and we didn't want our holders to feel like they were getting left behind which is why we took advantage of the migration to change the ticker from Poki to Tomochi.

TOMOCHI NUMBERS

While barely anyone knows about Tomochi in crypto yet, the brand is growing fast, here are a few numbers:

- We have 5000+ Tomochi memes/artworks
- 80k followers on Instagram
- 31k followers on Facebook
- 23k followers on TikTok
- 2B+ total views across all socials (TT/IG/FB/Giphy/Tenor, etc...)

We're very grateful to have a community of patient people who share our vision and know what we're trying to do takes time. The same holders showed up literally everyday for the past 8 months, whether the coin was at 500k, 50k or even now above 1M. Die hard Tomochi supporters.

BE THE CHANGE YOU WANT TO SEE

I've been in the space for a long time and it is extremely frustrating to see how most people have no patience these days. Average holding time has drastically decreased and people no longer want to believe in (due to multiple factors including bear market PTSD).

Good teams are left to die and serial deployers constantly farm you. Trust in the trenches has been broken and I believe in order to be restored, some people need to step up and lead by example.

Nowadays when coins die, the devs usually just stop working on it and move on to something else.

But it doesn't have to be that way.

This is why we've been showing up every single day since launch with the same hunger, regardless of the market cap or price action. The team is resilient and the vision is clear.

We can't change the whole space, but we can at least try to do better in our small little corner fo the industry.

Not many of you know me but last year I hit rock bottom. I was financially down bad, going through some shit IRL and had literally almost no money left to build Tomochi. Realistically most people would have pulled the plug and called it quits.

Instead, I decided to move to my sister's house, slept on her couch for months to save money and use everything I had left to keep growing Tomochi and rebuild myself. Everything I do is for Tomochi.

I'm now in a much better spot and so is Tomochi. Blessed and grateful to be in that position.

The goal remains the same, it'll take a while but we will turn Tomochi into a multi billion dollar brand. We have always been a scrappy team with little ressources but we always found a way. I believe consistency is key.

Hopefully once tomochi succeeds it'll encourage good devs to keep building and people to start holding again.
