Rolling out 1:1 devices with my 5th grade students this week. What are your go to platforms or favorite ways to utilize technology purposefully in your classroom?
@Demetrius_Ball As a white male, our equity work has made me more mindful of how what I say and do can impact Ss differently than intended. The work is ongoing. Ss are starting to see that they are a valued part of conversations and decisions within the school community. #EduGladiators
A3: Our district has equity specialists that not only meet with marginalized groups but work with Ts to improve our practices. We have also partnered with Mayo Clinic to bring science educators and experiences into the classroom for all to experience. #EduGladiators
@Empathic_Paws@seni_bl Well said. Oftentimes I feel that our vision for our education system lacks in comparison to the rest of the world. We need to have consistent values that are clear. These values need to drive our work consistently rather than ticking a box or being a buzzword. #nt2t
A4: Intentionality Matters. Ss thrive off of strong relationships. Continue to meet them where they are at to help them get to where they need to be. #EduGladiators.
A3: Continued adaptability by Ss and Ts. The constant pivoting has helped us find great new tools and be more inventive with how to improve student collaboration. DL has given Ss more options to express their opinions. #EduGladiators
A2: My feelings are mixed. We have large class sizes so it is cramped and hard to navigate the room. Any extra space helps. Priority is maintaining safety for all. I am confident in the building safety protocols. Feel safe. #EduGladiators
A1: Was full DL for my team until 3 weeks ago. Love having half my kids back while the rest continue DL. Space is tight and adapting to new guidelines but going well. #EduGladiators
@mgrosstaylor Challenging at times with tech and equity issues but it is our new normal and we make the best of it! It is fun learning new tech from students. #EduGladiators.
Teachers need to continue to be more intentional about getting our Ss to connect to their learning rather than react. We need to use tools that are meaningful and relevant to Ss that amplify their voices. #edchat
A5: An awareness of feelings. Students have seem the world around them collectively struggle in different ways. They are empathetic and adapt in ways that I never would have been able to think of at their age. #NT2t
A4: Resiliency of students. Are they really falling as behind as many think? They have powered through challenges and shown grace as we help them navigate through this. #Nt2t
