Elon Musk shared a detailed plan for conquering Mars
At a presentation at Starbase, Elon Musk said that the first unmanned Starships could be sent to Mars in 18 months (subject to successful testing of orbital refueling). According to his calculations, millions of tons of cargo would need to be delivered to create an autonomous colony. Even such trifles as vitamin C should be available autonomously - in case of isolation, Martian society should survive without support from Earth.
To achieve this, SpaceX is building a new Giga Bay plant capable of producing 1,000 Starships per year, which is comparable to the production of airliners by Boeing and Airbus. A bonus for accelerated colonization will be the Raptor 3 engine, which operates without a heat shield and integrates auxiliary systems into the body. The main engineering challenge is a reusable heat shield that is resistant to the aggressive atmosphere of Mars, where upon entering dense layers, CO₂ turns into plasma with a high oxygen content.
The plan involves sending entire fleets of a thousand or more ships every 26 months. Optimus robots will arrive on the planet before humans, and will begin preparing the infrastructure. Musk emphasizes the philosophical significance of the project: two self-sufficient planets will ensure the sustainability of intelligent life and open the way to new forms of society, rights, and laws on Mars, free from earthly norms.
When it comes to being lazy, you can't really expect much from yourself.
You have to accept the decreased quality of your success/entrance/arrival; regardless of the critics.
Remain realistic about your expectations as well as to not create extra anxiety.
The best way to do this, is to have a healthy data base of facts already discovered.
The last thing you want to be is hypocritical or delusional.
