Prime Minister @Keir_Starmer: a good education stretches from the canteen to the classroom. Now is your opportunity to ensure every child in primary school has a hot school dinner every day. It’s time for #FreeSchoolMealsforAll.

A short thread on praising students...
When doing something difficult, and we're guiding students through the process, it is tempting to congratulate them on basic things like '3 + 2 = 5'. Don't. It's hollow praise.
"Thank you ____" is acknowledgement enough for their answer.
Try This
When teaching today catch students being good.
Avoid “looking” for things to tell students off about, but instead, notice the bright spots.
Highlight them. And through Proximal Praise get everybody wanted some positive affirmation.

@SLTchat Our school have not insisted on full live lessons (normally 1hour). Instead staff deliver a minimum of 20 minutes, most deliver about 40 minutes and ask students to sign off and complete independent work and prepare for the next lesson. #SLTchat
@SLTchat We have used Insights and set regular quizzes through assignments on teams for students to complete. These can be self marking so feedback is instant. #SLTchat
