REMEMBER HER NAME, Sibongile Mani, arrested for R14 million NSFAS scandal.
Well, today we have R14 million PPE scandal, can we have the similar arrests ? @SAPoliceService@RSASIU@MYANC
CC: @nomvulamoko_@Anele
@Boujeena She was sent to jail for spending money that was accidentally put in her account. Here, R14.3 million was taken intentionally through 'fraudulent' contracts and they just get told to pay it back? Yah neh! The law in SA has two different speeds
Here’s the uncomfortable truth about this 2.01 trillion collected by SARS
That money didn’t come from thin air, it came from citizens who are already under pressure, people paying income tax, VAT on almost everything they buy, fuel levies, and small businesses trying to survive in a tough economy
When politicians celebrate big tax collections like this, some of them look like clowns because they are cheering a number without acknowledging the pain behind it
Many South Africans are dealing with unemployment, rising food prices, expensive fuel, and slow economic growth
Higher tax collection often means people are paying more, not necessarily that the economy is thriving
If people were earning more, if businesses were booming, if unemployment was dropping, then it would make sense to celebrate because it would reflect real growth
But right now, it feels like the burden is increasing while service delivery, infrastructure, and accountability are not improving at the same pace
So the frustration is not about the number itself. It is about what people are getting in return
When foreign investors and the DA say South Africa has too much red tape, what they mean is they cannot legally wake up on a random Monday and send an email at 6am laying off 30 000 workers without severance pay with no heads up or due process.👍🏾
One of the most eye opening experiences of my life was doing an assignment in undergrad for my professor who spent 6 months studying in China.
He had us pick a random news story & give a presentation on how it was being portrayed in Western media vs international or independent media.
For mine, I chose the Saudi bombing campaign against Yemen.
I found an article from the Atlantic Council in support of the bombing campaign, which completely neglected to mention that the Saudis caused the largest cholera outbreak in modern history by hitting water desalination plants.
Upon looking deeper I learned that the Atlantic Council was literally a mouthpiece for major weapons contractors & their think tanks, masquerading as an “unbiased” news outlet.
It was only be looking at independent media that I was able to get real information about the bombing. For example the targeting of civilians & infrastructure, or the fact that the Saudi jets were all being fueled by the United States & the American taxpayer.
And while mainstream media gave the usual line about bombs being dropped for “Freedom & Democracy” the independent outlets helped me understand that the Saudis were trying to crush an anti-imperialist left wing militia movement in Yemen called Ansar Allah (The Houthis).
I knew the American media is bad, but I didn’t understand how bad. They don’t just smudge the truth, they completely invert the nature of reality itself. And you can’t truly understand it until you dig a little deeper into their sources of funding, and look to sources beyond the mainstream media bubble.
Now let's revisit the question about that "Open Boarders" policy of a certain party in SA.
Could it be in place to protect the operations of Zama Zama's and illegal mining associated with the names mentioned in this tape?
Today, I don't see Germans praising Hitler or Nazism.
Today, I don't see Britons lauding slavery.
Today, I don't see Australians defending the genocide of Aborigines.
But every fcking day I see whyte South Africans praising Apartheid, a crime against humanity, a cruel, evil system of subjugation & the worst human rights atrocities.
Please stfu!
Let me get this straight…
OpenAI was founded as a nonprofit. Open source. For everyone. “To benefit humanity.”
Then he raised billions of dollars.
Then he closed the source code.
Then he converted to for-profit.
Then he scraped the entire internet without asking anyone.
Then he used YOUR writing YOUR art YOUR code to train his models.
Now he’s on stage saying you’ll pay HIM to access intelligence. Just like a water meter.
He stole all of your data. He built the product with your work. And now he’s going to bill you to use it…
Corporate greed has reached an all time high, and they’re not even hiding it anymore…
