I watched “Schools facing unprecedented challenges post-pandemic” on @ThisWeekABC. It’s unfathomable how you’ve framed the teacher shortages. 300K teachers didn’t just “leave” the field, or the horrendous pay. Many became chronically ill from SARS-CoV-2. Many can no longer manage the classrooms filled with students who have endless cognitive deficits, socioemotional & behavioral problems which are exacerbated and caused by their own sickness, & at-home family health & economic issues (exacerbated and caused by their health issues).
I’ve got news for you. The pandemic ain’t over till it’s over. Teacher shortages will only continue to worsen because no one is improving the built environment or taking personal precautions because they’re following public policy. Their hands are tied until the government steps in to stop this madness. Indoor infrastructure to improve air quality via air filtration systems and ventilation must begin NOW. Until then, the data support masking and portable HEPA devices in schools and failure to provide guidance on this is gross negligence. When parents and teachers (and their children) fully awaken to the impaired immune functioning caused by repeated SARS-CoV-2 infections, they’re going to be furious, I assure you.

BREAKING: The @OntarioNDP Official Opposition has found that Ford Conservatives have so far issued as many Minister’s Zoning Orders to benefit just the guests at a single Ford family wedding reception as the previous government issued during its entire 15 years in power. 1/5
So schools run directly by the Ministry? No screw ups there! 😂
It was actually a Ministry directive that called for the removal of books in PDSB. This board was placed under direct Ministry control, if you recall. #OntEd

Correcting some media reports about BA.2.86 (Pirola):
* 6 cases known so far (Israel, Denmark x3, US, UK).
* Absolutely nothing known about symptoms specific to this variant.
* No one claims it's the deadliest variant since original Omicron.
* It is not surging in China.
During her Greenbelt investigation, the auditor general found political staff inside the Ford government were using personal email addresses to do government work and were “regularly” deleting emails.

Housing Minister Steve Clark will only allow that his government "moved too fast and there were severe flaws in the process."
He was asked why developers were given the ability to influence the process.
Exactly one year ago today, Premier Doug Ford hosted a $150/ticket stag and doe in his family backyard.
The Integrity Commissioner:
“The premier confirmed that those guests, identified as developers, are personal friends.”

Just a reminder that a curriculum document is not a textbook, unit plan, lesson plan, etc. It is merely a document outlining what must be taught and assessed in each grade. The actual lessons and resources used come from the educators who teach the curriculum.

The human immune system is a complex and fascinating network of cells that work together to protect our bodies from harmful pathogens.
THE GUARDIANS.
There are many alternatives to hitting to help kids learn how to self-regulate.
When your child acts out with aggression, please do not follow @fordnation’s advice to hit your child.
There are resources available if you need help responding to your child without hitting.
