I think it's pretty depressing but important to say:
Most CPD will not stick.
Most schools move on from things too fast and end up back at square one.
The two most important ingredients for teacher improvement are persistence and patience.

There's a teacher shortage coming. It's been coming for a while, but was staved off by the pandemic.
Now, it's heaving back into view & it isn't pretty.
It's easy to blame the DfE, but I think some other things are happening that matter outside of education too ๐งต... STRAP IN!
Been doing a lot of reading recently about essay writing, essay structures, scaffolds and similar.
This is a key idea for me: extensive and prescriptive scaffolds can result in short term gains (performance) but hinder long term learning.
