@GovEconGHS When I teach the Cold War in US History. I would challenge my students to find these signs around town as they are a relic of the past that you walk by all the time…or is it a relic? Probably not useful anymore 😬
@GovEconGHS Well I’m the lucky one! I have great students like your daughter and the other students in the class. We build a learning community together and so far it’s been a blast! Thank you for the kind words.
It’s teacher appreciation week. I’m remembering my wonderful grandparents Noble and Katherine Manning, who taught a combined 70+ yrs in TX public schools. I still have my grandad’s school bell he used in a one room school house. Teachers are heroes and a backbone in our society.
As the calendar year winds down, let’s thank those who have been the tip of the spear facing Covid- nurses, drs, teachers, principals, first responders-all front line people showing love, courage, compassion and commitment during this stressful season of life. Thank you!❤️
Nearly 800k fellow citizens have died of Covid. Our lives have been turned upside down. We’ve been divided by politics. But we still need each other. Kindness, decency, empathy and community are not political. Be the change you want to see.
School principals are heroes. Leading a school in these turbulent times requires bright minds, soft hearts and genuine humanity. Tip of the cap to all the great principals out there, working for a better future for every student and staff member in their care. #Principalsmonth
Calling all educators. Let’s remind our communities that we do more than teach subject matter. Check out What ELSE Do You Teach? (via https://t.co/faZ8iLVzlB) https://t.co/4PoaPj2Sn7
@NicholasFerroni Im a HS AP World History teacher from TX & you are not alone! We will get through this! We did not sign up to be online teachers with a background in IT support BUT we love our students & our careers so learning will occur. Hang in there! I’m an open ear for anybody who needs one
100 yrs ago today, the 19th Amend. was ratified giving women the right to vote. My late G-mother, Katherine Manning, a TX teacher for 38 years, voted in every election she was eligible, from 1932-1996, her last. Here’s hoping all my g-daughters will remember her example and vote
I’m borrowing this to add that these two are my heroes and my teachers. These are the best men to try to model your life around. Happy Father’s Day to my Dad and Grandaddy Manning. #FathersDay
He’s my hero. My lifelong role model. The man I still strive to be. A rare combination of kindness and strength, commitment and love. Happy Father’s Day to my Dad.
