But it was the will of the people. Plus we had a referendum on changing the electoral system - and that too has to be accepted.

Labour have won a landslide with over 400 seats from less than 10M votes (Boris Johnson got just under 14M in 2019).

Tories got 6.5M votes for around 120 seats.

Reform got 4M votes and won 4 seats.

Lib Dems got 3.4M votes and won 68 seats.

And so under our first past the post system they get to run the country with a mandate from 20% of the people
