🚨 Rick Ross got arrested this morning in Miami on domestic violence charges — one felony count of battery by strangulation and one misdemeanor battery count. He turned himself in around six a.m., got booked into the Turner Guilford Knight jail, and posted five thousand dollars bail.
The charges stem from an August twenty-eighth incident at his Star Island mansion. According to the arrest affidavit, his then-girlfriend — identified only as “JK” in the documents — said he woke her up enraged over an Instagram photo, slapped her, hit her in the chest, and choked her by twisting her hoodie collar until she couldn’t breathe. She reported it to police on September twenty-ninth, about a month later.
This follows his ex-girlfriend Jazzma Kendrick posting Instagram stories last week with a photo of a busted lip, writing “He saw a punching bag” and “The day Rick busted my lip and the day I left.”
Ross pleaded not guilty. His attorneys say he’s being wrongfully accused by an ex whose motivations are unclear, and they note she didn’t file a police report until a month after the alleged incident. Arraignment is set for October twenty-second, with a stay-away order already in place.
