3rd grade engineers used their knowledge of bridge types to design and construct a bridge model. Can you spot the truss, arch, beam, and suspension bridges?
Finished some fun Halloween activities this week. Created symmetrical skeletons using our cursive names as the body with a dia de los muertos theme. We also made monsters using google eyes to set up an array. #ThisisWES
3rd graders followed the rules of a haiku poem to create a Halloween haiku. Students had the opportunity to make a pop up haunted house to present their haiku. They turned out great!
Ms. Newman from the School of Education @PointParkU taught us about Antarctica and Emperor Penguins. We read articles, examined photographs, and completed a KWL chart. We enjoyed Ms. Newman’s lesson! #ThisIsWES#PointParkU
Today we used red cabbage juice as an indicator to test if some household liquids are an acid, base, or neutral. Acids turned red/pink, bases turned green, and neutral stayed the color of cabbage juice. We also tried out litmus paper. Can you tell which is acid, base, or neutral?
After researching, planning, and designing, we began building bridge models that include the unique design features of a suspension, arch, beam, or truss bridge. Stay tuned for finished products! #ThisIsWES
While reading The Trial of Cardigan Jones, we talked about jumping to conclusions about others. After reading, we began making a comic about another day in the life of the clumsy moose Cardigan. #ThisisWES
The first day of third grade went by in the blink of an eye. We made jitter bots to help break the ice. Lots of creativity, teamwork, and problem solving. #ThisisWES
