@Carlitospace18@Zakk_dotcom@AprilShowerszzz Went out with a Fairy Taildeck to locals this evening. She doesn't get too crazy in it, but it is really nice to get a lot of extra recursion because of her.
Book of Moon effect comes up a lot, and being able to turn a monster into a Prince at quick play speed from GY is fun.
@CharaSoon I think the meme is more Jack "Serial Cutscene Skipper" Garland completely ignores most exposition in favour of punching whoever in the face.
I love Jack. He is going to kill Chaos. And by his hand he will absolutely do it.
@taescodetalker I used to be like that."What the hell is even this? This is stupid." Then I decided to engage with the game on its terms and discovered there are a lot of really fun pendulum cards and YuGiOh wouldn't have had them without that mechanic.
Sleepy Girl on Extra Deck, Funny Burger
@Cupworth@conal_mcginnis@TheOneJame YuGiOh also has cards that say "This card always counts as a "whatever". So if you had something to make it become that, that would be the rules text
@Cupworth@conal_mcginnis@TheOneJame For YuGiOh it would be a named Archetype.
All "Sliver" monsters gain [Whatever effect]. It isn't particularly difficult to parce
@SibiyaAshley13@SkarlonYGO I guess I am just wondering more why lab is catching strays, when handtraps and omninegates are exactly what other decks do as well.
Is it the recursion? Genuine question, I am only just starting to play Paper YuGiOh again.
@SibiyaAshley13@SkarlonYGO I've played Labrynth. I am aware of a lot of the nastiness that you can get up to with it. It also happens to be what lots of decks do, via multiple layers of negates on end board, entirely locking you out of playing the game. Kash does it via zone lock and banish.
@SibiyaAshley13@SkarlonYGO Activating a trap card is pretty bread and butter YuGiOh, so much so that it is an entire meme outside of the card game.
Is it because they set it on the field first?
@CentralScruty@SynthPotato Counter point. Some people prefer to watch others play as a type of entertainment. It's no different from watching TV or a movie.
And yeah, we did have this discourse in the 90s and 00s. It is just a hell of a lot easier with Twitter where you can see it in real time.
@FatesHyperSpace So I am a long lapsed YuGiOh player that has only recently come back to playing paper, I gotta say someone saying "I miss the cool people I used to play with playing too" and having it turned into a mudflinging fest about how the game isn't for you is extremely off putting
@NVIDIAGeForce This is what you spiked ram prices for? An ugly instagram filter completely destroying individual art styles?
What a useless waste of time and resources
