@MarcusLuther6 Overall, yes I love it. However, it's important to note that we can dislike aspects of things we love. We can feel both love and despair at the same time about the same thing.
What does "productive struggle" mean to your Ss?
The definition educator @KatieP1120 and her Ss come up with is a cornerstone in their classroom all year long!

@heymrsbond I enjoy having 1st period planning...but I struggle with having a 4th period class. I've only ever had last period planning once in 6 years and I'm excited to have 4th period planning next semester. I'd rather prepare the afternoon before and leave on time.
One of my personal goals is to shift my focus away from explicitly teaching the language and towards teaching students strategies they can use on their own (eg., how to use a dictionary, annotation, paraphrasing, self-monitoring, etc.)
I can't say enough about how much I love using ChatGPT to generate and organize ideas. We like to demonize technology but y'all...that's nothing new and AI is here to stay. It may not be able to think critically but it can do a heck of a lot that would make me tear my hair out.

@hilarym99 Agreed.
Examples:
Science --> talk about the EPA
Math --> talk about economics
SS --> self-explanatory....
Literature --> citing text evidence is the first anchor standard in my state, and source credibility is a critical thinking skill relevant to politics
@MarcusLuther6 1. "Jack of all trades but master of none is certainly better than master of one."
2. Habit Psychology: repeated small actions > one big action (and so much of how students learn is related to habit psychology)
LOVE THIS. I feel so vindicated! I've been saying literally since 2007-ish that leaders are servants. Now there are visuals, descriptions, and a whole system!

Have a student wearing earbuds in class? Making distracting noises? Try asking a question, says teacher @SarahWysocki10—it might transform the situation. 💫 Here’s how she switched up her approach to addressing minor behavior challenges: https://t.co/S6OatB19fk
Give yourself grace and remember humility: Learn about your teachers' content areas and their experiences. Learn about content areas outside of your own. Remember that what you'll bring to your teachers isn't just your own exp., but also your observations of other teachers.
