@kaipurpleshell Haha, I get that you're used to Stardew's way of things, but I've made an effort to break its conventions in small ways that I hope will make players realize "oh, well, there was this other way of doing things that makes a lot more sense"
Got all my Pokopia towns to level 10 and and so I finally had the time to implement this thing I liked from it. I spent awhile figuring out what to call it, because "pester" was accurate but maybe too mean. So NPCs will occasionally "approach" the player with gifts.
@souldeep17 Hahah, in all honesty, the way Pokopia inspired this feature was because of what it DOESN'T let you do, which is dig up treasures without having to fiddle with the inventory and replace the block you broke.
@kaipurpleshell The idea is that tools don't waste inventory space (they have their own bar), so there's no need to like, stash your pickaxe in a chest if you're not going mining for the day. On top of that, you always have access to all of your tools easily. It's a win-win!
@kaipurpleshell The tools UI? It's actually pretty cool how it works. On KB+M, you can hold CTRL to hotkey to your tools, and can swap between them/use them. Once CTRL is released it'll return to whatever item you had selected. On Gamepad, the leftmost slot is dedicated to your tools.
@SilvanuzGamedev The angling of the camera/perspective mapping definitely feels a whole lot more mode 7-y than mine does !! It looks great! Really, all I'm doing with mine is downsampling the rendering of the track. This is just a week-long minigame project, after all, haha ๐
@SolarWing83 But SKC lets you manage multiple plots of land at once. One might be a bee and flower farm, another might be used for raising animals, and another might be for growing fruits and veggies.
My brother has been helping w/ music for the game! One of his tracks fit the museum, but it was too upbeat for when the museum doesn't have any artifacts on display, so I came up with a system of transitioning between versions of songs depending on donation milestones !
@SolarWing83 Actually, I disagree ! Why can't one of the various garden plots you can run in the game be a dating spot for you and an NPC, especially when you're in the earlier stages of your relationship with them?
