I'll say this on sunny mehta. I think he'll do great, unfortunately for a rangers fan. However, no back tracking if it backfires. If he sucks because he's no longer the supporting guy, but the main guy and that's not something he can handle, anyone glazing him deserves clowning.
@hangonasecdude@Hutson4Hart@adamfoxyourmom Not carb cutting, I want him to work on his shot and receiving passes->into a shot. If he's net front moving forward, he has to excel and the best way is to get as many reps as possible. Also, he's still young, can definitely chisel his body more. He's a big guy, they take longer
@hangonasecdude@Hutson4Hart@adamfoxyourmom Yup, he has good net front instincts and needs a facilitator like Perrault there too imo, but he really has to have a mckinnon off-season to get to that level. He has the tools, just needs to put it all together
@hangonasecdude@Hutson4Hart@adamfoxyourmom Maybe- I just think it's quite a jump, maybe I'm wrong. I'll be happy for a 80-100 pt player, that's a home run for the org. But getting from 55-60ish to 80-100 is a huge jump and a lot has to go right. You can look at Jordan staal as a player who people thought would pop off
@Hutson4Hart@adamfoxyourmom A lot of reasons - mostly inconsistent. First half he was unlucky, then got hot and now is going at a good pace. He hasn't had consistent pp1 time in his career until we moved panarin this year. Even then, he's probably at max a 65-75 pt player, which is still pretty good
@OhRyanMead Truth of the matter is the rangers (Drury) did not think aging panarin with his play style was going to do this team any good. Hope green tree proves people wrong, but I can't disagree with moving him. Just wish it was a guaranteed second or first instead
@RangersJets2488@BaldPanarin I think everyone knew we were not getting sergachev, was hopeful for him or cirelli back then, just such a lopsided trade and then they flipped sergachev for moser after maxing his use, which is turning into a coup.
@Fayyamstix@bananalandmika@JFreshHockey Yeah I guess that's fair then, I like Raymond a lot but panarin is a legit magician with the puck. His playoff numbers hold him back from getting more love imo.
@RangersJets2488@BaldPanarin Looking back, I still don't get the theme of what they were looking for. Namestnikov was riding coattails of their superstars and we just threw Miller in for no reason. A top 6 forward (50 pt guy at that time) and a top 2d for bustek, howden,a late first and name smh.
@bananalandmika@JFreshHockey Raymond probably, I mean he's way younger and recovers faster, might not have put up 120, but at this point in their careers I see the argument. No to debrincat lol.
Rangers are complete dookie right now because they kept buying, trying to win a cup and the core couldn't get it done. Drury identified that, made the right move and the team's response killed that season. I'm okay with restarting now, Drury always had a core in place. Now what?
@NYRLouie Saw him live against wilkes barre. He was good so was chmelar. Still think he will get knocked around a lot (he did yesterday) but he is very tenacious on the puck and speedy
