The driver who kiIIed a 9-month-old baby in NJ while driving without a license is an ILLEGAL ALIEN from Guatemala, DHS confirmed to us.

Officer gets called out for a shoplifter that is caught with two bags of food to feed her kids. This one ends differently than you would think.

An officer responded to a shoplifting call at a Dollar General. She tracked down the suspect, a woman named Sharica, waiting at a nearby bus stop.

When confronted, Sharica initially denied taking anything, but quickly broke down and admitted she did it because she had babies to feed. She was a mother caring for three toddlers aged 1, 2, and 3. Just a month prior, she had lost her job of a year and a half at Arby's. To make matters worse, her SNAP (food stamp) benefits had just been cut off because she missed a work-requirement reporting deadline.

Instead of viewing her solely through the lens of a criminal statute, the responding officer looked at the human reality. Having grown up in severe poverty himself, she candidly shared that she understood what it felt like to experience childhood food insecurity and deep desperation.

​Rather than letting her go to jail, the officer stepped up:

• Groceries Paid Out of Pocket: She brought her back into the store and purchased the food items herself so her kids wouldn't go hungry.

• Reduced Legal Penalties: Because the store requested prosecution, a standard court citation was required. However, the officer advocated on her behalf to slash the store's trespass ban from the maximum two-year limit down to just six months.

• Safe Ride Home: To top it all off, she gave her a courtesy ride straight back to her residence so she wouldn't have to haul the groceries on foot or via the bus.

​This is a powerful moment and this officer went above and beyond to help this woman out.
