@My_Metro OK thanks, understand, but might be something you want to think about, there is a significant movement away from X going on, and with big players like Guardian newspaper yesterday dropping support for the platform, it may well gain momentum
@fellranger1@fellranger Given you a follow Mark 👍 more people need to post their BSky handles on here, tbh the search on the app is poor to quirky at best and finding people isn’t easy, much easier if they just said
Fascinating lecture/talk @FarrellCentre on Vertical Cities and the history (and demise) of 60s mega planned concrete skywalks, and elevated living #Architecture
@MarekBidwell He spoke. Words came out of his mouth. Hard to call it a "speech", total verbal car-crash again, rambling, void of any substance, no humility - they say a country gets the leader it deserves, fear for America if that is representative of it's people
@EuropeByRail Ah yes, very fond memories of the summers Interrailling 1991-1993 with trusty ERT as our Bible. The weird and wonderful routings we followed to maximise night train journeys (and save on accommodation costs). Happy days!
@EuropeByRail Fab question! For me (since 2020)
Venezia Santa Lucia - surely one of the great arrivals anywhere in the world?
Marseille St Charles - a grand edifice as all good stations should be (and start of many French adventures)
Zurich HB - encompasses all that is brill about SBB service
@shawkirsten I know the feeling Kirsten… few years ago we came off Col du Galibier in snow (in June!) It was freezing, and so hard to keep a grip on the brakes. Hope you had a hot chocolate at the top (or something to warm you up)
We then transferred to Brescia - a fascinating mix of distant historical periods, from Flavian Rome (amazing remains) through the Venetian-Palladian era & even some significant Fascist era architecture. A lovely town to while away a few hours on the way home
… then on the old road, climbing up the hillside for great views back to Riva del Garda, finishing with a swim in the lake before the return ride back (33 miles total with 1730 feet ascent) 2/2
Fab days cycling from Roverto to Riva del Garda, initially climbing through the vineyards and olive groves, then crossing Passo San Giovanni, for a fantastic view of Lake Garda from above. Cycled along the lake shore to Riva del Garda… 1/2
