@johnmcdonnellMP@NUJofficial ….and you don’t think it’s deliberate? The BBC’s News and Political output has been dire for a over a decade - and is still, somehow, getting worse. Gaza is a prime example. It’s past saving.
@MarkSeddon1962@paullewismoney As you know, that’s the idea. The BBC has been slowly killing itself from the top down for at least a decade. A very slow, public, painful suicide.
@ScotNational@jeremycorbyn It wasn’t ‘inaction’. The government *knew* what was going to happen and still let the property show go ahead. The government provided security, via the police, to the event. It’s passed laws to silence the opposition to the state that is selling the stolen land.
@NUJofficial The BBC has been destroying itself from within for the past decade. It’s news and political ‘journalism’ has been so bad that now, I genuinely don’t care about the BBC anymore.
@DAaronovitch@paullewismoney The BBC’s news and political ‘journalism’ output has been nothing more than propaganda for at least a decade. Just its reporting of Gaza and fanatical defence of Israel warrants it complete shutdown, let alone its ‘credit card’ analogy for the UK economy, promotion of Farage….
@meralhece Because he was identified as a well connected multi-millionaire, so it was probably ignored.
I’m guessing recently he crossed a line and has now been thrown to the wolves.
@MaxKendix ‘Named and shamed’? How about properly regulating the sector? Or even better, bringing them back ‘in house’ and removing the profit motive altogether?
@ejhchess@flying_rodent Social media has eroded the influence of newspapers, much to the media owner’s annoyance. Politicians have had to justify their voting records directly to their constituents. Police have been held responsible for their actions by social media. Of course the state will limit it.
@jessicaelgot Actually research what you are reporting on. Basic journalism. Face ID is processed in the phone, not sent to 3rd party servers.
The public needs the media to hold the government to account, not sneer at them and regurgitate propaganda.
The Guardian used to be better than this.
@MichaelRosenYes Less safe. The government breaks international law to appease a nation credibly accused of genocide. Who holds the government to account as the justice system and media are corrupted? It is now making sure any attempt to make them accountable by protest is ‘terrorism’.
@MikeTappTweets Supporting Palestine by providing intelligence, political cover and arms to the country credibly accused of committing genocide? Compared to the suffragettes, PA were incompetent amateurs.
