I think the backlash for digital-only PlayStation would be less bad if they improved digital rights.

You can "own" digital games until they say no. Yet I can't sell or transfer one to a buddy, because that's too far??

Yes, I get it, less sales from the physical disk. But enough money to produce, no? Not every game needs a physical disk, but the major game needs it.

Like why offer the physical disk reader for PS5, if you are just gonna kill it after a few years.

Crunch time is also reduce, which help mental health of the developers. However, increase the time on the production (which furthers the delay and scope of the project).

Seeing lot of negative views on GTA 6 news. I agree that price and locking content to a paywall is shitty thing. And R* could make enough money without ultimate edition and lower price point and still make enough money for the budget.

I can see the industry want to increase the price point of average game, since the cost of production has increase significantly, and one time fee is no longer achievable.

@kiwitalkz Also, I am not super into cryptography, but isn't it possible to have the content encrypted, and the private key is on the Playstation server.

If that key gets leaked, then the game gets leaked.

But surely there is a way to encrypt it and prevent leaks?

What about the physical map? Is that still a thing?
