Vincent made 3 paintings of 'The Bedroom'. This one, in the collection of Musée d'Orsay, is the smallest: 57.3 x 73.5 cm. He made it for his mother, to show her where he lived. Our version is 72.4 x 91.3 cm, and the one at The Art Institute of Chicago is 73.6 x 92.3 cm. 💡
First time trying “quilling” with students (2nd graders pictures here) - inspired by @MarieBoydAuthor who is virtually visiting our .@GroveAve220 students in February! Thank you for the intro @MrsMoralesGrove and Ms. Boyd for the tutorial to make snails!
A copy of one of the three of these bedroom paintings Van Gogh made hangs in our @GroveAve220 art room so she was very familiar with it. Amazing to see the size that it truly is compared to Kathleen standing beneath it! .@220Arts
Yesterday, Kathleen from @Mrs_Warnecke ‘s third grade class, who had just finished a unit focused on Van Gogh’s impressionist artwork, shared that over break she had gone with her family to the @artinstitutechi and hadn’t let them leave until they had tracked down this painting!
Each year our fine arts teachers select elementary student artwork to be showcased at the District Administrative Center. This evening we enjoyed welcoming the students and their families to see their beautiful work hanging around the office! #WeBelong220
Missing .@MrsChangGrove ‘s fourth graders in the mornings but have loved joining .@TaraBBowden ‘s third graders this week! Highlights included analyzing a @nytimes photograph and designing “nifty” innovative glasses…
This week we started new units in writing, reading, & social studies! We also had fun playing Passing the Wave in our Morning Meeting! We can get pretty creative. Thanks for joining us, @MrRootArt! ~Iman. #WeeklyStudentTweets#WeBelong220@GroveAve220
