This afternoon, the children tried and tasted some seasonal fruit and vegetables!!!

This afternoon the children explored qualities which help foster strong friendships. They produced some amazing newspaper articles to offer advice for building friendships!

13,345 steps later Elm have made it back to the bus!! All the children have been fantastic today and have really impressed all the staff with their resilience and determination!! @olos_armthorpe

It’s snack time on Elm’s first school trip to the Peak District!! The children have been identifying all the human and physical features on there way down Burbage Brook 🌍

This afternoons Elm class fair was a great success!!! All of the children were amazing and I am so proud of all of them for the time and effort they have put in to their stalls!!

In PE this morning the children took part in an orienteering challenge around school!! They used there map skills to find the control points which was great to see!! 🗺

Elm class had a visitor from Crown Green bowling this week to introduce them to the sport of bowls!!

As geographers this week, the children in Elm revisited their OS map skills to identify human and physical features around our local area. They also used eight point compass directions to find nearby settlements 🌍 🗺

And of course enjoyed a well earned ice cream!!!

What a fantastic start to the term!!! Our Geography trip to Filey was thoroughly enjoyed by all of the children, who spent time developing their field work skills creating sketches and learning about coastal features 🌊 🌍 🗺

We finished a term of hard work and determination with a lovely picnic out in the sun ☀️ all of the children have been amazing this term and they have blown me away with all their hard work! We wish you all a happy Easter and look forward to welcoming you all back next term!

Friday started with a wonderful walk through Shaw Wood with the Eco-councillors as part of our effort to help clean up our local environment!!! The children were fab on the walk and there were some eagle eyes, which helped spot lots of litter to be picked ♻️

We have had another visitor in Elm class this week, who came to talk to about renewable energy. The children looked at different types of renewable and non renewable sources and explored the advantages and disadvantages of both!!! They then made some fantastic wind turbines!!

SCIENCE WEEK 🧪
This afternoon for our science week activity the children explored water filters!! They used a range of materials found outside to create a water filter, check out the results below!!!

This morning we had a visiting artist who helped the children to develop a self portrait, which was then turned into an abstract portrait!! We all had a great time exploring different shapes and materials 🖼 🎨
