Update:
The Borno State Ministry of Justice, under the leadership of the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Barrister Hauwa Abubakar, has arraigned Mohammed Shettima and his wife, who is accused of abusing and assaulting young girls for picking mangoes at his residence.

He was arraigned before the High Court in Maiduguri and has since been remanded at the Correctional Centre (Prison) pending his trial or the consideration of a bail application. The case was adjourned till next month.

I sincerely commend His Excellency, Governor Babagana Umara Zulum, for his unwavering support in this case and for ensuring that justice is pursued, as well as all those who have stood firm in the quest for justice.

This is a clear indication that the Borno State Government is committed to protecting the rights of individuals, particularly children, and addressing any instances of abuse or violation.
