A4 - I am all about using technology to help with digit story telling - going beyond Microsoft powerpoint! Allowing students to express their ideas in visual format is one of my favorite things to try! #WorldClassELsBookstudy
A3 - I definitely think I am the most prepared for creating engaging and meaningful lessons. As a social studies teacher this is definitely my biggest strength! #WorldClassELsBookstudy
@CaseyWard2709 It's so funny because I have feedback to give but I struggle to find the time to give it. Usually I just have to talk to the students whenever they are free at the beginning or end of class, which isn't really as meaningful as it could be!
A2 - My biggest area of concern based on the self-assessment was providing feedback. With the fast pace of our curriculum and the randomness of this past year it has been a huge area I have struggled to keep up with. #WorldClassELsBookstudy
A1 - I use a lot of creative writing and drawing in my classroom when talking about big concepts or themes. This allows for more opportunities to demonstrate understanding beyond simple Q & A tests. I have some great artists! #WorldClassELsBookstudy
A4) I always like to use the analogy of a teaching "toolbox" with tools for various challenges, hurdles, and opportunities. I have a wonderful opportunity teaching such a diverse group for the first time - time to add to my toolbox! #WorldClassELsBookstudy
A3) For me, adapting the lesson as needed is of extreme importance. I can't stand leaving anyone behind, especially because of a language barrier. Making sure the lesson is inclusive AND continuing to be is my top priority as an educator. #WorldClassELsBookstudy
A2) Ah, this is where I struggle. I don't know of much in the way of technology to help yet (only my 4th year!) but am eager to learn! #WorldClassELsBookstudy
A1) I'll say knowledge of foreign languages came in handy when we were looking at primary sources! We looked at propaganda posters with different languages that some students were able to translate for their peers! #WorldClassELsBookstudy
